Wes Butters

Wes Butters studied film and television at Salford University, but made a name for himself in radio as the ninth host of  Radio 1's UK Top 40 chart show where he also covered the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills drive-time shows.

While presenting Galaxy Manchester's breakfast show he won silver at the Sony Awards, a best presenter award from the industry magazine X-Trax, received an Arqiva nomination for Best UK Presenter and achieved the highest ever listenership.

He made a return to national radio when he covered the BBC 6 Music breakfast show for Shaun Keavney, and after a year with BBC Radio 7 can now be heard on BBC 4 Extra.

Represented by London agency Noel Gay, Wes is a high-profile voiceover: The Brit Awards (ITV1), Top of the Pops (BBC1), An Audience with Take That (ITV1), An Audience with Lionel Ritchie (ITV1), ASDA's Christmas campaigns and countless albums and television adverts. Not forgetting the film Love Actually!

He is one of the most prolific interviewers of his generation, having interviewed hundreds of pop stars during his time with Top of the Pops and the Radio 1 chart show.

A successful writer, Wes's first book, Kenneth Williams Unseen (HarperCollins), was met with critical acclaim. His second, Whatsisname: The Life and Death of Charles Hawtrey, was the best selling pre-ordered biography on Amazon, going onto become the best selling biography.

He has a daughter named Maisie.
