Wes Butters

Wes Butters studied film and television at Salford University but made a name for himself in radio as the ninth host of  Radio 1’s UK Top 40 chart show, where he also covered the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills drive-time shows.

Whilst presenting Galaxy Manchester's breakfast show he won silver at the Sony Awards, a best presenter award from the industry magazine X-Trax, received an Arqiva nomination for Best UK Presenter and achieved the highest ever listenership.

He recently made a return to national radio when he covered the BBC 6 Music breakfast show for Shaun Keavney.

Represented by the London agency Just Voices, Wes is a high-profile voiceover: The Brit Awards (ITV1), Top of the Pops (BBC1), An Audience with Take That (ITV1), An Audience with Lionel Ritchie (ITV1), ASDA's Christmas campaigns and countless albums and television adverts.

He is one of the most prolific interviewers of his generation, having interviewed hundreds of pop stars during his time with Top of the Pops and the Radio 1 chart show.

As well as his career in front of a microphone and TV camera, Wes is also a successful writer. His first book, Kenneth Williams Unseen, was released in October 2008 (HarperCollins) and his next biography, due in mid-2009, focuses on the tragic life of his fellow Carry On co-star, Charles Hawtrey

He has a daughter named Maisie.
